The Endorphin has a new "Rapid" liner this year to make it even more comfortable and powerful. This Garmont free-ride alpine touring boot fits most AT bindings, and using interchangeable soles, fits all ISO downhill bindings. The ski mountaineering sole has good binding compatibility because of harder, non-lugged areas, which are more compatible with binding release functions. It is self-cleaning, and has a built in rocker for crampon compatibility, climbing, and touring comfort. The downhill sole fits all ISO alpine bindings and is screwed on with 11 Phillips head screws. Whether you need a powerful, high, stiff boot to crank those alpine boards, or you want it free moving for ski mountaineering, the Endorphin will do it all. Using PU in the shell, and Pebax in the tongue, the Endorphin combines performance and a predictable flexing tongue. The multi-injected lightweight plastic cuff conforms closely to the leg for maximum leverage and support. It has 3 positions: a 20 and 25 degree forward lean, as well as a free "walk" position. The cuff has a height-adjustable, removable spoiler that wraps completely around the leg for that secure feeling by minimizing play between the liner boot and the shell. Internal cuff "stops", evenly distribute pressure where it meets the lower shell. The a.d.d. double-injected tongue is higher and reinforced on the inside to transmit pressure to the downhill ski, while it's lower on the outside to allow smooth ankle flexion to control the uphill ski. The overall flex of the boot is smoother, stiff, and progressive. Stiffer plastic under the buckles disburse pressure over a larger area eliminating shin-bang pressure points. An a.d.d. toe shape is anatomically shaped for warmth, skiing sensitivity, and a secure fit. A full wrap power strap and four micro-adjust Freeride field-replaceable buckles are light, solid, and secure. The lower two are inverted so they don't open while hiking or climbing. The cuff buckles have an additional telescoping hook for walking, and can be moved 18mm forward or back for different calf sizes. In addition, there is a Cant adjustment, and a hidden gel shock absorber in the heel for additional comfort. The new Rapid Thermoflex lace-up liner has a Pebax plastic-reinforced tongue to assist leverage and to protect the shin. Low profile laces adjust the fit and heel comfort on long tours. Silver fibers woven into the wicking lining are anti-bacterial and help retain body heat. Double pull loops help with getting the boot on and off. The liner has reinforced EVA foams with multiple thicknesses and densities, a flat seamless sole, pre-lasted ankle pockets with greater toe room. The softest foam is used in the forefoot and tongue for warmth and comfort. A stiffer support density wraps the rear of the foot. - 8 lbs. 8 oz.
