Garmont Voodoo Thermo F09

Here's the " beef." The Voodoo is Garmont's burliest, free-ride, traditional square toe tele boot. It has unprecedented lateral stiffness able to drive the widest of skis, yet has a smooth progressive forward flex. Not just 3, but 4 different injections that laterally reinforce and fine-tune the lower shell like an alpine boot, also work in unison to create the boots performance and comfort. These different injections are strategically located for quick response, a smooth progressive flex, and powerful torsional rigidity, while maintaining the ideal telemark toe flex. The new Voodoo 3-buckle boot, using Garmont's new Power Wrap shell technology, actually has more driving force and comfort than the 4-buckle traditionally designed Garmont Synergy. The Power Wrap shell feels like a custom fit, right out of the box. The one-piece high overlap shell closely follows the anatomy of the foot, instep, and lower leg for crisp, precise downhill performance, while cradling the foot comfortably and securely. The anatomical "pre-punched" shell and overlapping tongue, close around the foot and instep more securely than an instep buckle, eliminating the "fourth" buckle's pressure point and any rigid, dead spots at the instep and ankle. The "pre-punched" shell makes extra room for common irregularities like the first metatarsal bone, room for the "6th toe"(tailor's bunion), room for the navicular bone, provides for the asymmetric malleoli to match the bodies natural asymmetry, and has a deep supportive heel cup with space for bone spurs should you have them. And this is BEFORE we custom mold your liners!! The Power Wrap shell has a new wider asymmetric Ergo Bellows design that extends rearward for better ski control, allows for more travel, and a more progressive 2-stage forward flex. The Ergo bellows also has a separate, stiffer Power Rib injected at the crest of the bellows which produces a more consistent flex and abrasion resistance. Boot durability, is enhanced by multi-injected bumpers that protect the buckles and lower shell, and there is a replaceable, high-density nylon bellows protector that fights off sharp ski edges. The above described a.d.d. Power Wrap overlap shell follows the contours of the foot and ankle more closely than traditional tongue-type designs, which help create the best downhill performance, while maintaining a smooth, progressive, responsive driving force and flex at the ball of the foot. A high plastic shell overlap front panel provides a handle to spread the overlapping tongue to help get into the boot, but also provides close, gap-free contact with the lower leg and instep, providing better volume control and distribution of pressure for extra comfort and quick forward driving force response. A soft, silicone-like Water Seal gasket between the front overlapping shells seals out snow and moisture. The dual injected plastic cuff wraps closely around the leg for a quick response to directed turning pressure. A height-adjustable spoiler accommodates different leg shapes for maximum rearward support and contact. Finally, a wide Velcro strap wrapping around the outside of the plastic cuff provides a secure closure and a powerful pressure distribution. Wide-0pen field replaceable buckles and Easy-Lock catches allow for easier unrestricted touring. Finally there is a simple to use 24 degree/Free Walk mode. The new Rapid Thermoflex lace-up liner has a Pebax plastic-reinforced tongue to assist leverage and to protect the shin. Low profile laces adjust the fit and heel comfort on long tours. Silver fibers woven into the wicking lining are anti-bacterial and help retain body heat. Double pull loops help with getting the boot on and off. The liner has reinforced EVA foams with multiple thicknesses and densities, a flat seamless sole, pre-lasted ankle pockets with greater toe room. The softest foam is used in the forefoot and tongue for warmth and comfort. A stiffer support density wraps the rear of the foot. For mail order customers, any good dhill ski shop should have trained knowledgeable staff to assist you with thermofit fitting. In Garmont's sizing, each full size and the half size above use the same shell and Thermofit liner: i.e., the 27 liner and shell are identical to the 27.5.
