The Excursion is a lightweight plastic 3-Pin backcountry touring boot with a removable Padlock liner. Changed this year, the liner is an insulated liner which is a little heavier than a Thermoflex, but is more durable and less expensive. Excursions are a perfect match for the wider nowax metal edge skis on the market today. Because of Garmont´s dual injection ability, they have an easy, comfortable, forward touring flex, yet good turning control due to the Pebax upper. The Excursion has 2 new improved buckles, a power strap, and Vibram sole, all at a good price. For most, if turning is one of your primary goals, it maybe the only boot on the market which makes sense for nowax metal edge skis with waists of 60mm or wider.
