Ordering Boots

We have literally thousands of boots in stock throughout our stores and the experience that goes with fitting them. Please include a note with any boot order with your standard running shoe size and any details about fitting that we may use to translate sizes to that particular model. EVERY MANUFACTURER FITS DIFFERENTLY — sometimes up to a full size.

Plastic Boots

Marmot has a large selection of plastic climbing boots. Although we try to keep boots in stock, we do not recommend waiting until the last minute to purchase boots. For the last couple of years, there have been supply problems with all the manufacturers of warm expedition climbing boots. We suggest purchasing 4-6 months ahead of your trip. Don't wait until the last month, you may be disappointed. There is no legitimate way of accurately rating the warmth of boots, but most brands offer a temperature range of models.

Overboots

We carry Forty Below overboots, the choice for McKinley/Everest-Himalayan/Antarctic type expeditions when you need maximum protection in extreme conditions. They are easy to put on in the cold, have a narrow profile, and are the warmest products of their type. The uppers are a breathable, windproof, coated nylon to minimize condensation. 5.5mm, stretchy, closed cell nylon coated neoprene wraps around and under the entire foot, which is the key to warm feet when wearing crampons. The front closure Velcro's and snaps all the way to the toes so you can easily adjust your laces, and they have a drawstring at the top. Seams are stitched and cemented, and the welt area is coated with a black "tool dip" to reduce abrasion.
